Abandoned in...Denver

Welcome back to an occasional series that reminds us that while Detroit may do it bigger and better than any other American city, there are parts of every American city that nobody wants.

It's amazing that even in a city like Denver, where land has become so valuable, there are still neighborhoods with abandoned property. But, just northeast of the city's downtown, there you have it. This is just one of a half-dozen properties found within a couple of blocks. Not counted were vacant lots and a board-up in progress on this beautiful fall afternoon.

What the story is behind this cool old home - condemned? eminent domain? due for remodel? - is not known. What is known: It is just sitting there.
